The 46th North American Bengali Conference (NABC 2026) will be held from July 2 to July 5 at the Westchester County Center, New York.

Hosted by the Cultural Association of Bengal, the annual conference is among the largest gatherings of Bengalis outside India and Bangladesh, with participants expected from the United States, Canada, India, and Bangladesh.

In a message released by the organizing committee, convener Milan K Awon said, “For decades, NABC has stood as a powerful symbol of unity, culture, and identity for Bengalis across North America and beyond. It is more than just a conference–it is a celebration of who we are, where we come from, and the legacy we continue to build together.”

Organizers said the 2026 edition will expand programming across genres, including classical, semi-classical, modern, and fusion music, alongside theatrical productions and dance showcases.

Major segments will include large-scale opening and closing ceremonies, as well as curated events such as the “Saturday Night Spectacular” and “Sunday Bollywood Dhamaka.”

Confirmed performers include Kaushiki Chakraborty, Aneek Dhar, Aditi Munshi, Laisa Ahmed Lisa, and composer Shantanu Moitra. Bollywood composer duo Vishal–Shekhar is also scheduled to perform.

A key component of the conference is the NABC International Film Festival and Awards (NIFFA), which will feature screenings across categories including feature films, short films, documentaries, and OTT content, followed by an awards ceremony recognizing selected works.

The 2026 edition will also include a centenary tribute to Bengali cinema icon Uttam Kumar, with participation from members of his family, including Gourab Chatterjee and Devlina Kumar.

In addition to cultural programming, the conference will include talent competitions, fashion shows, themed productions, and community-focused events aimed at engaging multiple generations of the diaspora.

Attendance at NABC typically ranges from several thousand to over 10,000 participants. Organizers have advised early registration and accommodation booking, citing high demand during the event period.

Founded in 1981 in New York under the leadership of the Cultural Association of Bengal, NABC was conceived as a platform to unite Bengalis living across North America and celebrate their shared cultural roots.

The inaugural conference brought together members of the diaspora for a weekend of cultural programming and discussions.

Over more than four decades, NABC has evolved into the largest Bengali cultural event outside India and Bangladesh. The conference rotates across major cities in the United States and Canada, including New York, Toronto, Chicago, Houston, Boston, and Atlanta, and serves as a platform for artistic exchange, professional networking, and community engagement.

Held annually around the U.S. Independence Day weekend, NABC continues to function as a cultural and social hub for the global Bengali community.
